Lincoln Cemetery Society Inc. was established on June 20, 2016, registering with the State of Florida as a 501c-3 Not For Profit Corporation. Its mission is to restore Lincoln Cemetery, located at 600 58th Street South in St. Petersburg, FL 33707, to what it was intended to be; a peaceful, serene, garden-like resting place, and to preserve it as a place where families can visit, find their loved ones, and pay their respects, for generations...
It is also the society's intent to see that it serves as an honorable memorial for our fallen war veterans and civic leaders who are buried here as well.
In February 2017, Lincoln Cemetery Society Inc. officially took ownership of the property (N 1/2 OF S 1/2 OF SW 1/4 OF SW 1/4 OF SEC 21-31-16 LESS ST & RR R/W CONT 8.82 AC (C)) from the previous owners (LINCOLN CEMETERY INC.), and recorded the Property Deed with the Pinellas County Clerk of the Court on February 14th, 2017.
Now, Lincoln Cemetery Society Inc. is focusing on, not only maintenance and preservation, but also developing the funding and infrastructure, that will sustain the property in perpetuity.
With the overwhelming support of the community including; the City of Gulport, Florida, City of St. Petersburg, Florida, County of Pinellas, Florida, many City, County, and Florida State officials, local churches, civic groups, veterans organizations, the media, local businesses, and all of our volunteers, we are confident that Lincoln Cemetery Society Inc. can achieve its goals!
